Mr. Subramanyam Kannan
Mr. Subramanyam Kannan has a wide range of experience in performing poojas and religious ceremonies in both Saivaite and Vaishnavaite traditions. He is experienced in performing poojas and other ceremonies such as marriages in both South Indian and North Indian traditions. He has been with the Hindu Center of Virginia since 2001 and is responsible for all religious activities, poojas in the temple and in the community in and around Richmond. He is fluent in many languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Sanskrit and English. His education includes "Vedanta Siromani", Sanskrit College, Mylapore (1990) and "Sama Veda Praveen", Raja Veda Kavya Pathasala, Kumbakonam (1984). Before coming to Richmond, he held several positions including Bharatiya Temple, East Lansing, Michigan, Hindu American Temple, Morganville, New Jersy, Hindu Temple Society of N. Mr. Rajagopal Thuppal
Pt Rajagopal Thuppal is a Vaishnava Priest in the Pancharatra Agama Style. He comes to our Hindu Center from Bangalore as our second priest. Prior to coming in our community he has been serving in the Sri Lakshmi Venkataramanaswamy Temple, Bangalore and have also served in Sri Ranganatha Temple, Pomona, NY. His Vedic Education was under the guidance of Vidwan Sri Ganapathi Bhatt & Vidwan Sri T.R.Srikanthachar, Pancharatra Agama from Sri Srinivasacharuyulu and Agama Praveena from late Sri R.N.Gopalabattar-receipient of awards from Maharaja of Mysore. He is experienced in performing poojas and other ceremonies such as marriages in both South Indian and North Indian traditions. He is also well versed in performing all religious services, as house warming puja, havans and Satyanarayana Pooja etc. He can speak in many languages--English, Hindi, Kannada,Tamil, Telugu & Malayalam.
